The flower is detachable, on a brooch pin back. My innovation - I didn’t like to see the flash of gold of the pin ends that showed, so I knit two small crescent petals (about 1 1/4 inches by 1/2 inch) and stitched one end next to each pin end. The other end curls naturally around and hides it. I didn’t get a good picture of it -- see, it works!
