Hasaah, done and looking good modelled on a colleague at work. I made the “large child” size, got a friend’s child’s measurements, and then checked my colleague’s head was the same size. She didn’t seem remotely offended to have a child’s sized head. As someone who also wears a child’s cycling and riding hat, I can understand that there’s no point getting frustrated that most hats leave you feeling like you’re an egg nestled inside a tea cosy, and she said she “really liked the hat”. You can see from the photographs that the colour really is more teal like than the picture of it blocking suggests.

The Peace Fleece was lovely to work with - it’s very “sheepy” in that there’s plenty of organic matter in it (by which I mean hay and bits of wood etc rather than anything sinister) but I quite like that as I enjoy knowing there is some connection with an animal rather than it being over processed.

I loved knitting this hat and it looks great. I’m going to keep this one and hope for cold weather soon (sorry fellow Londoners enjoying the three rays of sunshine we’re having - and yes to the man on Fleet Street today wearing nothing but shoes, socks and swimming trunks, that includes you).

Rightyho, this bad boy is finished and is currently blocking. The lighting doesn’t do the colour justice - it’s actually a lovely teal colour Peace Fleece worsted weight.

Will get action shot of hat on a head tomorrow after it’s dried out in its little patch of sunshine today …

So nearly finished last night - literally at the point of threading the stitches onto yarn and weaving in, when I spotted a mistake, tried to be too clever by half, and ended up bogging the whole thing up.

I re-cast on and knit fiendishly so am half way through the second version; cast on with slightly smaller needles as my gauge was slightly out anyway with hat numero uno - so should be done tonight/early tomorrow, blocked and ready to photograph by Thursday evening/Friday morning…
