Started with size 1.5 needles and xl size got to first stripe and the stripes did not meet on the circumference.

Ripped and restarted on US 0. Too tight a fabric…..

Ripped again restarted on US 1.5 for 7 gauge and increased to size large.
This worked and resulted in a 12 stitch overlap for the stripes.

Working to get to Saturn…the half way.

Thanks for checking out my project! I love this pattern. This is hat number three with same pattern. I anticipate using it for years to come. Great pattern for picky male heads. Looks good on them.
