Notes

ETA 3/2/12 - These socks are now fuzzy/pilly and have lost their stitch definition, even though I wash them by hand and air dry. I don’t think I’d use this wool again for socks.

8/12 - Love everything about these socks so far -- the pattern, the yarn, the way the socks are turning out. I can’t stop working on them. I’m halfway through the third repeat of the leg repeat. Pic does not do justice to the colors/patterns in the sock.

8/8 - am loving this yarn, variegated with gorgeous turquoise and forest green. O and I are reading the Guardians of Gahoole series and I noted the colors remind me of the “cold coal” the author describes, thus the name.

Stats: Cable cast-on -- next time use long-tail cast on … too tight! Worked 1/2 pattern repeat when I got near the toes instead of a full pattern repeat; socks fit perfectly.
