Notes

I highly recommend this pattern for knitters new to lace. It’s a very satisfying project; not too difficult with a spectacular eye-catching result. Next time I make this, I’ll do 12 repeats of the body pattern; the shawl is a little smaller than I’d like. Otherwise: LOVE!

9/27/11 - bound off last night, but the method I used (lace bind off) was way too tight so I couldn’t get the points on the edges while blocking. I’m ripping out the binding today, frogging back a couple rows, then reknitting/binding off with a stretchier sewn bind off. What a load of work (but the shawl is beautiful).

9/28/11 - Used this bind off: http://slipslipknit.com/?page_id=92 and then blocked overnight. Much, much better! A very stretchy bind off that allowed me to get aggressive with the points.
