Notes

I’d originally planned to knit this hat in a multi-colored green yarn I’d bought in Siena. However, when my husband brought back this fireball from his trip to Glasgow, I immediately changed my mind. The rich orange heathered hues should knit up beautifully in this cabled hat!

Cast on using the 2x2 tubular cast on method (a conglomeration of the instructions for BT’s Cordova and Backbay sweaters) in size 3US needles. Switched to Size 4 for the ribbing and following pattern from here on out for size Medium hat (Update: changed my mind because I was knitting a bit tighter tension and wanted to make sure it would be long enough, so knit the Large size. It is a bit large on my head, but not overly so, and not slouchy! It covers my ears nicely).

A great and easy pattern to follow! I keep returning to BT for their patterns because they’re clear and easy to follow with good instructions for new methods and techniques. I was surprised they didn’t spell out a cast-on method, but that was not a problem.
