I looked through several projects to find ones I liked and decided to follow the notes from this one. I did not use the garter tab start but instead followed the instructions from the Nordic Wind pattern until I had the stitch count necessary to work off of the Set Up round.
An easy stockinette and textured set of rounds so hopefully this will go along quickly! I love knitting with this yarn.

Finished! Hooray! This took forever. I wish I’d had one more skein of yarn to do a proper thick garter stitch edge but I was afraid of the color dye on a skein from another lot being too different to take a chance and no one locally sells this yarn to go look in person. So I did a couple of rows of garter and hope that it will go flat after soaking and blocking.
The yarn is fantastic, I love the deep, rich color in this textured pattern, and the shawl was easy enough to knit, just dull after so long. Overall fairly pleased. Wove in the ends and will post post-blocking photos soon.
I used every last inch of this yarn and had to redo the cast off halfway back in order to get a bit more yarn to finish off with because I ran out 15 stitches from the end!
I was able to do 5 repeats of the textured stitch, starting as directed in the pattern but then I just kept going, adding one row each to the stockinette and textured sections as I went, so that it grew very gradually with the project.
When blocked out aggressively, final measurements are:
55” from center to wing on top edge
60” from center to wing on bottom edge
51” from top center to bottom center

Blocking did wonders. The edging lays flat and it stretched out to a nice size and shape. Very pleased with the soft yarn and the finished project!
