When Laine magazine asked me to design something for their 7th issue, I was beyond honored, as you can imagine. And it became a little overwhelming when Malia, owner of Stephen and Penelope, asked if I wanted to use their new yarn for the design.

As you can see, I said yes to everything, and here she is, my Calla!

I love this shawl with its perfect proportions, the sturdy background of the broken rib and the elegant cable and lace shapes that surround the wearers shoulders like a garland.

These pictures were taken just before I shipped her off to Finland for that gorgeous photoshoot in Lapland. In a few weeks I will have her home, and I’m sure I’m not going to take her of for a while.
