Using Boye hook, size 8 (1.5 mm)

It’s my first time crocheting with size 20 thread (or anything thinner than size 10, for that matter).

Also, it’s my first time trying Cébélia thread. I’ve had some in my stash for years, but I’ve always been “saving” it-- until I was a better crocheter… until I found the perfect pattern. No more! I’m going to start using some of my nicer threads and yarns.

I’ve wanted to make this pattern for a long time-- since before I made my first “real” doily. It’s about time I gave it a whirl.

I love this color! “Sea Mist Blue” is a romantic, dreamy name, and this pale blue lives up to it-- and does remind me of the seashore. An extremely pale, slightly warm blue. How bewitching! ;o)
