Notes

I’m excited to knit something from 100% alpaca! This pattern looks lovely, too-- romantic and fresh and optimistic, like a soft sea breeze. :o)

Starting out is always the worst part. Stitches too tight. I hope it’ll get better soon…

July 2015.
Picking it back up again after a long hibernation.

This is kind of a pain to knit, to be honest, but I’m too far in to turn back now. I made the mistake of knitting part of a row that should’ve been purled. UGH, what a mess to fix! Laceweight is not made for mistakes. I’m hopeful that it’ll get somewhat easier again after a few rows. I haven’t knitted in a while, so I’m out of practice.

Ok, done!

Once you get into the pattern, it’s easy. (Just hope you don’t make too many mistakes with that “sticky” laceweight! Those can be a major annoyance.)

My scarf’s not especially long, but I got as many repeats as possible from that single ball of yarn-- and the yarn is very pleasantly soft and fluffy. It lends itself well to this airy pattern.

I’d consider knitting this pattern again, but not right away. All that purling gets tiring.

The photos are before blocking.
