Instead of using autumnal colors, I shopped my partially used balls of size 10 thread and found that I had a few blues. It’s steamy August, so maybe these colors can provide some psychological relief. ;o)

The turquoise and pale aqua are a discontinued line (America’s Best brand)-- though the turquoise I used for the flower came from a small remnant that might be South Maid. The dark blue is Aunt Lydia’s Classic in “Blue Hawaii”.

First round of trebles (first round in pale aqua) doesn’t want to lie flat, but subsequent rounds seem to help flatten it out. I think that blocking will do the trick.

The ruffle takes a while to crochet. All those trebles! I love the way the ruffle is constructed, though-- the way it neatly folds upon itself. Very neat and tidy.

While taking the pins out after blocking, I realized that there’s something wrong with the rose in the middle. I neglected to crochet three of the second tier of petals! Don’t know how that happened… I must’ve been seriously distracted. The loops are there, though, so I may try to go back and add them, even though it’s already been blocked (and I don’t intend to block it again for quite some time to come).
