For my Whispers of Spring Sampler.
Using the Canada Goose block border.

Quite a variety of stitches and techniques in this one! I particularly like the “bumps” (Rnd 3) and the scallops.

Rnd 8, while not especially difficult, requires that you pay attention. Not intuitive/auto-pilot, in my opinion.

There’s a “cheat”/abbreviated version of round 8 in the instructions, which I didn’t see until I’d finished crocheting from the “long form”. (g) By the end of the round, I had it memorized, anyway, but for the first side or two, the rhythm didn’t jump off the page at me.

I changed Rnd 10 slightly, because I wanted to avoid the small holes created by the ch-1 spaces. Instead of chaining 1 and skipping a stitch, I put a hdc in the “back bump” of those stitches.

After Rnd 11, I deviated from the pattern, because I was sure that working the rest of the block as written would yield a block too big to match the squares I’ve already made for this sampler afghan. Instead, I substituted some rounds of linen stitch. A final round of dc brought the block to the right size (before adding the Canada Goose border).
