Another great pattern with nice texture. Complicated enough to stay interesting, but definitely do-able.

The first time through, I followed the video tutorial and hardly looked at the pattern at all and worked the block in a spiral. (No slip stitch and chain-up to join rounds. Just work the first stitch of a new round directly into the first stitch of the last round. Use a stitch marker to mark that first stitch, and move it up as you go.)

However, after finishing and photographing the spiral-worked block, I couldn’t stop focusing on the fact that the spiral slightly messed up one of the diamonds, so I finally decided to rip it all out and work it again with the seam/joins in the corner. (I think I might work all of the blocks this way, from now on.)

The second time through, I followed the chart, which I found very helpful. Much faster to comprehend at a glance than written instructions, for me.
