I’m excited to try brioche for the first time!

Using up some unassigned stash yarn. A variegated (pink, purple, green, beige) yarn from a clearance bin and a ball from Tuesday Morning that is supposed to be superwash, but probably isn’t (based on lots of reports).

The variegated yarn may be a bit lower in yardage than is ideal, but if necessary, I’ll just end the cowl a little early.

I started out with the Newsprint cowl pattern, but after reading more and finding a helpful video on YouTube, I jumped ships.

I’m now following this pattern (w/ video tutorial):
Milkshed’s Two-Color Brioche Cowl
(I see the designer has a project page for her cowl, but I don’t think the pattern itself is entered into Ravelry’s database, yet…)

Long-tail cast-on 140 sts on size 9 circular needle, then swapped over to size 8 circular (24”).

Joined into a loop and knitted every stitch for 5 rounds (creates rolled edge).

Added in second color and then kept steady until cowl was desired size. (I used up most of the pink yarn.)

Knitted 5 more rounds for rolled edge, then used Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-Off.
