I’m making this square for my “Be of Good Cheer” Samplerghan. :o)

What clever construction!

This is unlike any other square I’ve crocheted, to date. It’s not a block I’d want to have to crochet several times in a row, but it’s definitely unique and gives an interesting result. A great choice for inclusion in a sampler.

I worked the block as written until the last round, at which point I started “doing my own thing” until it was a 12-inch square.

When I finished this one, I wasn’t sure I liked my color arrangement, and if I had it to do over, I’d probably swap them around a bit, but now that it’s done, it’s growing on me.

45 sts per side on last round (counting each center corner st twice).
