Interesting construction with a very attractive result. This pattern’s fairly complicated, but all things are possible, if you take it one step at a time.

The round-by-round photos with the stitch groups marked are a big help. There’s at least one mistake in the pictures, though-- round 10. Also, the photo on round 12 doesn’t mention the chain-1 that you need to make. I was relying too much on the photos, missed the ch-1, and decided to leave it that way. It doesn’t seem to make much difference, in my square.

Because I’m making this to fit into a sampler afghan, I need to decrease its size to match the blocks I’ve already made (and added borders to). I’m thinking I’ll have to stop after round 13 to make it fit.
