Stockinette for one inch (for rolled edge) and 1x1 rib for another inch.

Repeating rounds 1-10 three times (iirc).

Whoa. This thing got big. I’ll wait a few days to make my final decision, but I’ll probably keep it for myself, because I’m not sure the intended recipient would want a hat this big… If I make this pattern again, I’ll cast on the number recommended for “large”.
