Notes

I’m making this square for my “Be of Good Cheer” Samplerghan. :o)

This is a pretty nice rose block, but I’m not sure I love the larger holes created by this type of “granny square” fabric. If I were making it again, I’d probably try to convert it to the tighter version by taking out the ch-2 spaces between the groups of 3 dc.

I’m adding rounds to bring the block up to size (and I omitted one of the rounds of sc before starting my improvisations).

There was a bit more of a gap than I like between the petals and the center of the flower, so I added in the yellow bit. It’s just short chain loops anchored to the base with an occasional single crochet.

43 sts per side on last round (counting each center st of corner twice).
