I had leftover thread from making “Ivy” (by the same designer) and wanted something small to use it up. I ended up having enough to make three doilies in this pattern, with just a small bit remaining for the scrap jar.

This pattern is a fun way to use up remnants of thread-- complicated enough to stay interesting, but small and relatively quick to crochet. It works very well with slow-change variegated thread, too.

I love that even though they’re all made with the same thread, each little doily has its own look, determined by where in the color repeat each was started. Very pleased with the results!
