Second time I’ve made this pattern. Though my “started”/“finished” dates would suggest otherwise, this is a very fast-working pattern. You could easily crochet multiple balls in one day.

I made this one bigger (and maybe a better size for a one-year-old) simply by doing an extra one or two (can’t remember!) increase rounds. Once you understand the way the pattern works, you can make these balls any size you want.

I don’t love the small gaps on the decrease side (don’t remember that being an issue last time…), but it’ll have to do. It’s only a small “extra” gift, anyway-- and the “pretty” side looks nice.

If I feel the inclination, I may whip up another one or two to toss into the package. (It was meant to be given at a pre-Christmas get-together, but I was sick and couldn’t make it, so now I have a little extra time before the next time I’ll see the intended recipient.)
