Oct 29 2011 - This is my first project to post on Ravelry. I bought 3 large balls of light blue mohair boucle wool on sale becasue I thought it was soft and pretty, perfect for a cardigan. Being a new knitter I later realised this was not enough for a cardigan so I have decided to try this lap rug pattern. Not too sure how its going to look with the mohair boucle but if its not to my liking I’ll frog it and put it down to practice. I’ll be sticking to the original pattern. I got through about 8 rows last night, was going to get alot more done today until I slammed my fingers in a glass sliding door :(. If the swelling goes down enough I’ll get back on with it tomorrow.

November 1 2011- After getting a number of rows past the border I decided to frog this project, the main reason being the beautiful detail seen in the FO using other types of yarn were not the same with the Mohair Boucle, infact it just looking like I had been doing a garter stitch. I will definately be trying this again with the appropriate yarn. I have posted a picture of my project before frogging, Ill be starting a new project with the same yarn trying a blanket stitch instead, I have been advised this may be better for the type of yarn Im using.
