Notes

I used the Baby Mitts pattern as a guide for my machine knit version. Left mitten in first picture. I found the Bulky Mittens pattern by Linda Molden a little confusing at first. It took me a couple of tries to get it right. When it said to put one needle to D position opposite carriage until all needles are in work, it meant only on one side. The mitten flips over and is kitchener stitched together. It’s cute when it is al done. Mitten is in second picture.

Right Mittens in first picture - Cast on 31 stitches in 1 x 1 rib size 0. Knit 10 size 1 rib, Change to Half Fisherman’s rib - Knit for 20 rows size 2 stitch. Knit 8 rows rib size 2. Take off machine. Knit the rest by hand. Row 1. Knit 2, knit 2 together. Row 2 - purl. Row 3, knit 1, knit 2 together. Row 3, purl 2 together. Draw yarn through remaining stitches and sew up

2 complete sets and 3 more sets of mittens donated in memory of Donna Lamb.
