Blocked the sweater too much.. lol.. Hubby said it looked like i Killed a Cat, was a lot of hair around it, but with this Lamb Pride, experience block hard, it will shrink back while drying. Was funny seeing all the hair around it.

After speaking with Debbie, I will be doing the three needle BO, wanted to do the Kitchener stitch, but she advised against it, it will pull to much on the seems, see notes below.

Have to add sleeves, band and hood, then will block it again, so it should not be too wide, Longer, which i Like, cause ah, I am 5’10 Need the length, plus, I am not young.

Got body done in one piece. This morning I am blocking it so I can add on sleeve cuff and hoodie. Very Please at the out come after blocking.

I am pleased with the mod that i did, so far everything is looking very nice, once i get some more rows done i will post picture.

Ok, got my graph ready making sweater size 41, making in one piece..

7/07/2010 am
I have frogged this sweater, and i am starting new,, really peed off at the pattern… going to mod the xoxo, cause i do not like the way the x stretches… Uncle says look like moth ate hole in it,,lol

…CHECK YOUR GAUGE, IT WILL HELP YOU FROM HAVING TO RIP BACK…

Mods:

  • added extra row to make up the difference.. after row 18 instead of going right into repeat, i will do row 10 1x and then go over to row 1, I will continue to do this, to prevent from creating a hole in the X … see picture graph added per Debbie O’Neil permission.

  • Casting on in one piece. Minus 4 stitches for connections, not necessary, there will be no seam to sew.

  • Working in One piece, I wanted more curve to my waist and bust, (seeing i have bigger Hips) At the sleeve area, where i discontinued pattern in one piece, working sleeve, left, back, and right, I changed needle to 9 us. This gave me more contour to my waist and breast. Hard for the naked eye to see this, In photo you can see the blocking goes upward towards neck and shoulders.

SUGGESTIONS:
SWATCH THE CHART XOXO,,, SO YOU WILL SEE IT BEFORE YOU GET TO FAR INTO IT,.

was going to give to a friend, now with all this work i am making it for me, now i need to mod for my size, and i would like to make a little longer for me, waist is long,,.. ok keep you up to date. I will be knitting this sweater in one piece. to keep it simple… plus i hate sewing,, lol

will be casting on with 10.5 needle due to the fact my cast on is always to tight

  1. 7/06/2010 Asked Debbie the author of this pattern to verify corrections going around, I do not think they are correct. so waiting for reply, But i will do this as stated for now.
  2. Per Debbie O the only correction that she is aware of is the begg pattern rows back left right, change pattern from PF&B to PM1. if you are going to stay with p f&b increase, then after on k3 not k4, but if you are doing m1 stay with the original pattern.

Q&A to Designer Debbie O’Neil

  1. email to debbie: shoulders seam

    Question:

Hi debbie,

another question, instead of doing three needle bind off do you think kitschner would work for the shoulder, cause of the cable i was hesitant,, that is why i am asking you? what do you think, I am at that point and want to go on, but need your opinion first, you been doing this longer then me.

 Answer:

Hello!

Are you up to the shoulders already, you speedy knitter?! I would use the three needle bind off. The sweater weighs a fair amount, so there is stress on the shoulder seams. A graft (like the kitchner stitch) will pull funny I think. The three needle bind off should give you nice stable shoulders. If you bind off with the right sides facing each other (so the ridge forms on the wrong side), I think you will find that the cables line up quite nicely!
