Notes

I’m changing this to be River, so she can hang out with Eleven. I can’t tell you how excited Eleven is! Ten is just pouting because he never ever gets to see Rose.

12th June- I was going to work on her during my trip, but I decided to do my cardigan instead. I just watched A Good Man Goes to War! I figured out who she was without any spoilers yesterday, so it was nice to have a proper confirmation! I love River Song!

13th July- I’m really not in the doll mood right now, so I’m putting her aside.

25th August- Hey, lookey! I’m in doll mood! Must. Finish. Before. Let’s Kill Hitler.

27th August- DOCTOR WHO TODAY!!!!!!!!! fangirl flail Working on her hair right now. More info later.
Later- Finished! Will post photos before the day is out.

How I did her hair:
Crochet the wig cap as usual, but do not sew it on. I took 3 different blonde colors, two about the same and one lighter. Cut the yarn into pieces about 5-7 inches long. Then I clipped them in an eyeglass case and untwisted to pull apart the plies. Each ply should be pretty curly. I took one lighter blonde and two darker blonde, folded them in half, then needlefelted it onto the wig cap. Hair and wig cap must be wool for this to work. Needlefelt it evenly around the cap. I found it awkward to needlefelt with the foam underneath, so I put the cap on her head. If the head is wool as well, it should stay on pretty securely without sewing by the time you’re done. After her head is covered and looks positively like an afro, tack some of it down by needlefelting it. That should tame the hugeness of it. Finally, give her a haircut. I did sew the back portion of the cap to prevent it from gapping.
