Some boomerang fun. :)

Designed for handspun, variegateds, short run gradients, varigradients, etc. Would also be fun with 2 solids, or a solid and a wild variegated.

Pretty tolerant as to yarn weight. My spinning is pretty rusty, so these yarns are decidedly thick and thin, with some sections roughly fingering weight and others heavy Aran, and so far it’s all mixing up ok.

Starting with about 240m of each.

204g after bind off.

Green measurements on the couch pic are straight off the needles. Blocked meas to follow.

Gauge: 18 sts x 35 rows unblocked.

I would say the yarn averages as Aran weight.

The photos with the goat are shawl straight off the needles, unblocked, as there was a fortuitous break in the rain.

The goat is named Socrates. He is on loan from the neighbours, as loanmower, and is a complete softie. :)

I’d originally wanted to name this after the Lorax because of the colours and the bifflesilk. But somehow Jabberwocky got stuck in my head instead, and reading Wikipedia’s entry ‘brillig’ apparently means ‘four in the afternoon ‘when it’s time to start broiling things for dinner’, which happens to be when the photos were taken. Maybe it should be called Frabjous instead, since that,s the kind of happy it gives me.. :)
