Notes

Fourth and final design of the Love series. This one is an evolution of the other 3 in a sense, combining elements of each, especially Whirlwind Romance and Kindred Souls.

The stitch pattern comes from Naomi Parkhurst, Gannet Designs and has the word ‘beloved’ encoded into the placement of the yarn overs. :)

Technically it’s constructed of 3 triangles, with a variation in the edging. It would be possible to adapt it to knit 2 triangles instead, though you’d probably want to work both sections either as the all lace wedge or the stockinette/lace insert wedge. Or maybe not.. Half lace could be an interesting variation.

Measures 130x48cm (51x19in) wingspan x depth.

100g used and very little left.

This sample shows 5 repeats, plus edging, and used 114 beads. One extra repeat would use 158.

Note to self, next time BO with larger needles so the edge can really blossom.

Apologies for so many of the photos being blurry. I had about 9 mins of sunlight left once I finally got everyone off to sleep. The local CFS had done a burn off in the park nearby and the sky was an amazing red because of the residual smoke.

The driveway paving pics are to prove that I wasn’t slacking off in between bouts of knitting. We laid all that over a weekend. :D

Knitting log:

April 14, half wishing I’d just kept working from the grey end as I would have loved to see what happened to the edging with the red splaying out of the grey.. I will say I’m very impressed with how the yarn tolerated being reknit and lugged around for an entire month. No blooming or frizziness whatsoever - yay! :)

April 7: Restarting this from the red end. Something very Sisyphusian about knitting a shawl from the bones of the previous shawl..

March 25: Have gone back to the first one with smaller needles.

March 18: Ack, yarn dilemma.

The MT is too pinkish and the over wash of black makes the fabric look very textural (stunning, but not ideal for this one, I think)

The Malagrigo is the perfect colour, but maybe Rastita is a little chunky for this one.

The Knit Circus Vampire boyfriend maybe? It does seem rather fitting though I was planning a break from gradients this time..

I wish I had a LYS in my pocket. Beginning to regret the idea of the whole collection being in reds!
