This is a compromise - between me and myself. I want to knit. I can knit. But there is a disconnect. Knitting doesn’t make sense. I can’t figure out how the stitches work in my head.

So this is me staring down the disconnect through a puff, soft, green tunnel (often referred to in knitting circles as a “cowl”).

…this continues to be an easy and low-stress first project (made with a pattern, that is). I’m impressed I’ve stuck with it.

In the end, this wasn’t so hard! I managed to finish it relatively quickly, which was shocking. And I hope he likes it. We shall see!
