Notes

This is an ingenious (but tricky!) pattern. I have learnt a lot from making it, the ribs for the body segments are such a good idea.

I didn’t do a great job though. I forgot to stuff the appendages, I messed up the body and have the wrong number of rounds, and I probably should have used a smaller hook since I can see stuffing in places… One of these days I’ll make another of these and try to do it justice. But not for a while…

I used a 2.5 for the ribbing. The decreases in the back loops were horribly tricky with this cotton until I realised it didn’t matter which stitch went onto the hook first. But overall, I can’t help but like this sea scorpion, and he makes a good addition to the tree of life collection.
