We start by knitting a T-shaped piece for each bootie.

1. Start by casting 46 sts for the longest horizontal edge of the T.
2. Knit till you have 1.5 inches of fabric.
3. Cast off 18 sts.
4. Knit to the end.
5. Cast off 18 sts. (that leaves us with 10 sts in the middle)
6. Knit till you have 3.5” for the vertical leg of the T.

To put the booties together:

For the right bootie:

1. Start by folding the right side of the T over the bottom edge of its leg.
2. Then fold the left side of the T over the bottom edge of its leg.
3. Stitch the relevant edges together.

For the left bootie:

1. Start by folding the left side of the T over the bottom edge of its leg.
2. Then fold the right side of the T over the bottom edge of its leg.
3. Stitch the relevant edges together.
