Looks like my hat tricks have turned into an official hat kick! I have new hip, and ill soon have many new hats…including this one.

Partly Sockhead, partly basic hat, here’s what I did:

Cast on 144, 2x2 for 4 inches.
Stockinette for 6.5 inches.
Decrease 8 stitches, every other round, to create crown shaping with 4 “seams.”
Close top when 24 stitches remain.
