Back in December, my neighbor showed me a photo of a dog with a hoodie, and the hood had teddy-bear ears! I don’t even really remember if she actually asked me to knit the sweater, but I knew that her short-haired pointer would benefit from a wool sweater in these Ohio winters!

Since then, the temperature has dipped well below the normal Ohio-winter point on several occasions, and I have felt guilty every.single.time. I know that the winter should start to wind down soon, but I’m finally getting started on this project, and I hope that Dawn likes it!

Notes:
Using Dawn’s measurements, I cast on 80sts, joined in the round, and worked a 2x2 rib for 18 rows.
Switch to larger needles, and knit first row, increasing 20sts evenly around. Knit 1 round plain.
Inc. 2sts on round 3, and every odd round, creating gusset from neck to chest. Continue increasing until there are 136sts total.

Chest - 29”
Neck - 18”
Neck-Tail - 31”
Neck-Leg - 10”
Leg openings - 7”
Between front legs - 9”

Side note: On 2/13, a friend of mine purchased some Fisherman’s Wool, and I was a little distressed to see that her yarn was 78% wool, 22% acrylic…mine is 100% wool. I sure hope that this is just a special FW, and that they have not changed it forever…
