Cast on 37. 1/1seed stitch, 4 rows.
Maintaining seed stitch on 3 edge sts each side, knit in st st until big enough to cover car seat (I worked ~54 rows in the stockinette section), then work 4 more rows seed stitch and bind off.
(4+54+4=62 rows total)
