3x1 rib 2 rounds. Start pattern and counter at round 1:
Rnd 1: (yo, sk2p, yo, p1) around
Rnd 2: (ktbl, k1, ktbl, p1) around
Rnd 3: (k2tog, yo, k1, p1) around
Rnd 4: (k3, p1) around
Repeat these 4 rounds for lace pattern.

Work lace pattern,3 starting thumb increases on round 16 (2nd full rep of lace patt.), every other round.
3x1 rib on palm, lace opposite, while increasing thumb to 17; slide 15 to holder and cast on 1. Continue in rib on palm, lace opposite, to round 36, then start 1x1 rib for top of hand. Rib for 8 rounds, then tubular bind off.
Pick up thumb sts, cast on add’l 3, work 1 rnd plain with 2 decreases, then work 1x1 for 6 rounds, (4 row) tubular bind off.
