Notes

I think I will start some socks for me!

4/2/13 - I’m starting with my standard 2x2rib…I just like that best. Cast on 72, as per pattern (because this yarn is thinner than my average choice), even though I prefer 64st socks. 2x2-11 rnds, knit 1 rnd. Start pattern.

4/5/13 - Soooo, 64 rows in, these will just not fit as socks. I really am not a fan of this yarn for socks…it is just too thin for me. I have to knit it on 0s to get the kind of fabric I like for socks, and I just don’t feel like knitting socks for me with more than 72 sts. Trying to decide whether these will become fingerless gloves or a trip to the frog pond…

OK, Not frogging…sooo, these are now fingerless gloves. First 12 rnds as above, pattern to 64 total rounds.

Thumb gusset: - on first 9 pattern stitches, work as written, minus the decreases. I am increasing 2 stitches, every other row, while maintaining the lace edge to the gusset. Separate for thumb (24 sts) after 24 rounds.

Continue for hand, working 20 rnds in pattern. End with a 2x2 rib for 12 rnds. Finish with sewn bind off.

Thumb - put 24 thumb sts on needle and pick up 4 additional sts. Work in stockinette for 6 rows, 2x2 rib 8 rows, sewn bind off.
