Update - 10 July
I have to say I am SO in love with this jumper!! I didn’t think I’d get the chance to wear it until we went to Adelaide next month, but winter has truly hit here on the GC and it has been much cooler than average. I have been able to wear my jumper every morning on the way to work. It is so comfy, and squishy and warm!

Mods

  • I have a 43” bust, so I made size large but after completing the body I found it way too big! So I undid and redid in size Medium.
  • I wanted a little bit of waist shaping, so after joining to work in the round I did 5cm of rounds with 4mm, 5cm with 3.75mm and then another 5cm with 4mm needles before going back to 4.5mm needles for the rest.
  • I left out the body increases

I LOVE this yarn! I discovered it a few years ago, and the price has steadily gone up. I had always wanted to make a sweater with it because it was so squishy and nice, but just couldn’t justify paying $10/50g/94m. But, recently Spotlight had a 40% yarn sale. I knew there were some new colours out, so I bought a ball of each. Then decided that that wasn’t enough, so went back and bought enough to make a sweater!

So far I am really enjoying this pattern. It’s pretty easy to read, it knits up well, and although I’m only a few inches in I think it looks good. It really helps that the yarn is such a joy to work with!

So, I got all the way through the body to the bottom cuff and the top was WAY too big on me! I was getting gauge in my stitch count, however it was 46” around instead of 43”. It looked like a sack on me.
After a day of contemplation, I frogged the whole thing and started over on the next size down. I know this is supposed to be worn with a few inches of positive ease, but hopefully this next size won’t be too big either.

All done bar the buttons, hopefully they’ll arrive in the post soon. Can’t wait to get some good photos!
