I love the idea of this! I usually find scarves too tedious, but this will be fun. I was going to use up some scrap yarn but didn’t like the colours.
I started with 8 rows of garter stitch in grey. At the end of each month I will do 4 rows. I’ve also done a 2st garter border with the two colours together.

I wanted to incoroporate both the daily minimum and daily maximum, so I have decided to make this my first double knitting project. I did a bit of practice with some scrap yarn before starting and, 5 days in, so far I’m pretty happy with how it’s turning out.

One week in and I’m getting the hang of this double knitting. I just wish more days had past so I could do more rows! After reading some forum posts, I’d like to incorporate something to make the day of my birthday, and maybe even family birthdays. I’ve got a few weeks to figure that out though.

Today I realised I had done the colours for the 12th twice. I only realised because this was in the patch where the minimum temps were over 25C. So I ripped it back and re-did that section. With 3 weeks done, I’m really happy with how it looks. It will be nice once the temps start getting a bit cooler though so I can add some more colours to it.

So, I got to March and realised the scarf was going to be quite thick and something I would never wear in this climate. I thought long and hard on what to do. I finally decided to do a blanket. I’ve gone with rows of single crochet, min then max. This then results in one side with the mins more pronounced and the other with the max’s more pronounced.
