Notes

~• I am using US6 needles because this is where I got gauge (with my loose knitting)-- I am not altering the pattern for DK yarn. I simply wanted it less chunky with more drape (and the color in my stash was perfect!) •~

So… I am in LOVE with bigD’s version of this vest, so I am greatly mimicking hers.

These are the planned mods to her mods, Lol!:

• Split ribbing at the bottom, but otherwise knit in the round (I eliminated every other decrease after the ribbing for a total of 8 extra stitches on each side-- I am knitting these as reverse stockinette.)

• I don’t like seaming, so I am working both pocket and lining at the same time. I cast on one st (via backwards loop) in between each worked st where the pocket joins-- I placed these co sts onto a separate circular needle cable held on the inside of the vest. I am working the pocket in the st patterns as indicated, and then working the lining (with a separately joined yarn) in stockinette after. I am knitting each pocket edge stitch together with the lining’s first/last st, but not dropping the lining’s st from the needle. I rework it and drop it when I knit the same row for the lining.

  • I ended up working the cowl collar almost exactly the same as the other version, but maybe a little bit longer.

  • For BO on the neck I used (p, p, k2 sts tog tbl) around

  • For Pocket and sleeve cap BO I used (p, p, pass st over) across.

  • For the sleeve caps, I picked up 51 sts around armholes. I knit in 1x1 ribbing, decreased by one on each side of armpit every two rows 3x. Then worked even back and forth to desired length.
