The original pattern is a top made of square motifs in a diagonal arrangement. I decided to make a vest instead using the same motifs arranged horizontally/vertically.

After picking this project up again in May 2020 after it went into storage for ~7 years, I decided to rearrange several blocks because honestly, I don’t remember how I had planned this out and I didn’t leave myself any notes. I ended up undoing several motif joins and rearranging blocks. I think it turned out okay, even though it’s on the small side.

30-Jun-2020 - 01-Jul-2020: I was able to find another partial skein of Taiyo in this colorway, so I decided to raise the back collar by 2”/5cm, add a simple shell edging all around, and add cord ties in front. Vest weighed 163g before the additions, and 190g after.
