Notes

This is Captain Michael Purrnham. Her brother has a new scarf, so naturally she gets one, too. When tied, it’s loose enough to easily slide off her head.

Just a note about this pattern: You will get a slight bias, particularly in the increase half. To help combat it, make your last couple of stitches on the increase/decrease side a bit looser, and the first couple of stitches on the straight (top) side a bit tighter.

I went up to 14 eyelets before decreasing. Since I used superwash yarn, the length grew from 16” to 19.5” (41 to 50cm) after washing. Always plan for expansion when knitting with superwash wool!

For the decreasing (second) half of the scarf, I moved the decrease (ssk in this case) at the end of rows 1 and 5 to the last two stitches; this looks much better than the original k2tog+knit, which bends the stripes at the bottom edge.

#2 (04-July-2021): “Mexicala” colorway.
I made this one with straps w/ a single eyelet on both ends. CO 2. I increased every odd row for a steeper triangle.
