I set this to “Finished” even though I have many more coasters to make for the foreseeable future.

On all the zigzag-pattern coasters, I simply worked the zigzag pattern back and forth with the front side facing me the entire time (I crochet both right- and left-handed). It’s just my preference to have all rows front-facing with tapestry crochet.

Set #1: Sage & Sand
I used Lion Brand Cotton Solid (Seaspray), Lion Brand Cotton Print (Sagebrush), and Peaches & Cream (Ecru), all Aran weight.
On my first attempt on the Zigzag ciaster using the suggested G hook, it was rather huge, over 6” across. Unless you’re an extremely tight knitter, the coaster will be nowhere near 4.5” square. I decided to start over and size down from a G to a C hook.

The multi-colored coasters use the Lemon Peel stitch, which I felt works better for the multi yarn instead of regular stripes. I used a US F/3.75mm hook and a foundation chain of 18 (not including turning chain) for these coasters.

I made a set of 4, all in Lemon Peel Stitch, which kind of gives the appearance of boucle rugs.

Set #3: Colorful zigzags

These coasters use four different combinations of five colors.. Since this yarn is sport weight with the recommended E-3.5mm hook, I had to expand the chart by 4 columns and add extra rows at the top and bottom.

Set #4: Blue lemons
Aug-2021. H/5.0mm hook. One coaster = 15g of yarn.
