Mods: Folded brim, extra hdc round on the body between Rounds 1&2 to match the rest of the hat, smaller hook for the body, earlier decreases.

The last hat I made--with this same superwash yarn--grew a lot after washing, so this time around I started the decreases sooner. I also made other modifications listed below.

Finished with 4g of yarn remaining.

Modification details:

• Folded brim for a nicer edge and warmer ears (FC 25). This used a lot more yarn so I had to compensate in other areas (see final two mods). I worked my usual 64 rows. After seaming the ends together, I folded the brim putting the long edges together, and worked the first hdc row through both edges at the same time.
• Extra hdc round between body rounds 1&2 so that the “double chain” stripe matches the rest of the hat.
• For the body I used a smaller I/5.50mm hook.
• I started decreasing a little sooner than the pattern.
