Notes

It’s not in the drop-down list, but I used the colorway Secret Oasis. It’s a gradient that fades from light orange, to pale yellow, to a whitish, to blue. I wanted it to look like a sunrise over water, and I think the colorway was just right. The shipping was quick from Austria, and the yarn was exactly what I was hoping for.

Edit to add: I ordered a 150g/600m skein to be sure I had plenty for a good sized shawl. The yardage worked out great!

The pattern works up crazy fast, and I couldn’t be more pleased. The simple stitching shows off the gradient beautifully, and the lace edge makes some lovely “waves” in the blue. I also appreciated that there were both written and charted directions. Great project!!

This is for my boss, Rosanne, who was recently diagnosed with cancer, and has just started chemo. I wanted her to be able to wrap and unwrap herself easily (I hear the treatment rooms are cold, but if you’re not feeling well, you might run hot sometimes), and I wanted it to be something that brought to mind beautiful, calming thoughts.
