I used the central spiral pattern to get started, and once it was an appropriate size, I ended the spirals by stepping down from dc to hdc, and finally sc. As a finishing touch (and also to curve it just a little, so it wasn’t pancake-flat), I did one last full round of even sc in blue.

I thought it turned out great, and Jake seemed to love it too :)
