Notes

My goal with this design was to showcase Wolle’s beautiful Color Changing Cotton, but it would work fine in any fingering-weight yarn with long color repeats.

In Greek mythology, Iris is said to travel on the rainbow while carrying messages from the gods to mortals.

This stole is the illegitimate offspring of the Clapotis and the Lace Ribbons scarf. I published the (free!) pattern many months after finishing this project. I hope you knit it!

I started out by swatching Clapotis in this yarn and I found that because the yarn isn’t really plied, the dropped stitches looked messy. So I looked for a way to get the same biased effect with stacked double yarn-overs. This is an easy pattern, just a seven-stitch, two-row repeat. Designing the edge increases and decreases took a bit of trial and error.
