Pattern:
Still light - still in love! This was the first pattern I ever bought and I love it. Veera’s designs are so simple and wearable, but always with a twist - in this case the convenient pockets :)
The second time around it seemed to knit up much faster

Yarn:
Oh so soft and luxurious! The only thing I don’t like about it is the poor stitch definition. The same thing happend with the Drops Lace, so I assume that’s just the way alpaca silk blends are.
I hope it won’t grow that much with washing and wearing
It grew quite a bit in length after washing, but the stitch definition is much nicer

Mods:

  • Bottom part a bit shorter (grew after washing)
  • Superlong sleeves, longer ribbing so it can be folded
  • edge ribbings done on 2.5mm needles

Diary:

Swatching woohoo :)
Hit gauge on 3mm, so casting on..

09.09.2012
At yoke increase #19 I broke into the second ball of yarn.
Suprisingly the second time around it seems to knit up much faster

12.09.2012
Yoke is almost done :)

13.09.2012
4 rounds after dividing for the sleeves and body. Up till now I followed size S instructions to the letter

16.09.2012
2nd ball of yarn lasted until the 4th round of the first set of 14 rounds

21.09.2012
3rd ball ran out at the end of the 4th set of 14 rounds

24.09.2012
4th ball lasted until the end of the third 12-rounds set

25.09.2012
Divided for pockets today :D

26.09.2012
5th ball ran out at bottom round 24

29.09.2012
6th ball lasted until bottom round 68 (67 marker)

30.09.2012
First pocket done, knitted fot 53 rounds

03.10.2012
Pockets done, both took 33g of yarn

06.10.2012
Finished the body with the rest of the 7th all and 15g of the 8th one. Knitted 86 rounds, then switched to 2,5 mm needles and went on for 11 rounds
JSSBO
Started the first sleeve with a new ball of yarn to see how long I can go on. Did the sleeve like this but will make them longer

07.10.2012
Followed the sleeves instruction until round 31, then knitted until round 165 to make long sleeves:
dec round (72 stitches, round 166)
switch to 2.5mm needles
k 1 round (round 167)
k2p2 ribbing for 40 rounds
JSSBO

08.10.2012
First sleeve done
Round 41 on the second one (marker 40)

15.10.2012
Done and done :D
Ends are all sewn in, but I still have to attach the button, which I’ll do after washing, in case the dress might grow a bit..
11g of yarn left, so technically it only took 9.8 skeins.
