Notes

Tested the winter version of Jen’s awesome pullover! I still can’t believe how fast these knit up. 2.5 weeks for a long-sleeved tunic?! Crazy.

Worn with 2 inches negative ease at bust, 2 inches positive ease at waist, and zero ease at hips.

I always forget that silk grows after blocking. Should have adjusted gauge a bit to account for this. So the color change doesn’t quite line up where I wanted it to (I had hoped it would be directly under my bust)! I was able to shrink a bit in the dryer and get it pretty close. I may try to do that again and see if I can shrink it one more inch or so.

A few mods:

  • Some extra hip decreases and then a few bust increases to more closely match my own measurements. Decreased every 6th row twice, then every 4th row until I had 136 sts. This gave me an approximately 30” waist. Worked even for 7 rows, then used mirrored side increases every 4th row until I was back at the required 156 stitches.
  • For the neckline, last row worked k6, k2tog around. Did not size up needle for bind-off. Tip: if you want the right size neckline without potentially having to rip out and rework as many testers did, take your desired neck opening circumference (measure a favorite sweater), then multiply this number by 4.5. This will give you the total number of stitches you should have on your needles before bind-off. Subtract that number from current number of stitches to get the number of stitches you need to decrease evenly around.
