Notes

Absolutely in love with this pattern and with the yarn. I don’t think I have ever knitted with something that feels so nice on the hands.

01/31: Nearly finished with the back. I think If I were to make this piece again that I would take the time to enlarge the lace pattern throughout the back and make the stockinette border less wide. Other than that I couldn’t be happier with how it’s turning out.

02/01: I suggest that when you get to the lace embellishment on the sleeves that you use stick markers to establish the chart stitches since the chart begins and ends each side with stockinette stitches and it becomes a little tiresome to continuously count stitches up to the chart.

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE this yarn?!?

02/04: I believe that if I were to do this again I would block the back square before continuing on with knitting the arms. I suspect it would make the process a little easier… but all in all the piece is looking beautiful.

02/09: After seaming the sleeves I have found that they are too big, and possibly a tad longer than I would prefer. While the length will be okay I don’t think I will be able to handle my arms literally swimming in my sleeves. Damn my body for not being shaped proportionately! ;)

Anyway, looks like I’ll need to pull out the seaming and re-sea them a little further in from the edge. If anyone else has to do this try to pay attention when seaming where your decreases are. Because I’m not right on the edge any longer I’m going to have to bring my stitches in one row on each end every time the stitches decrease. It won’t do it automatically any longer because that decrease is becoming part of my seam allowance. In other words the decrease in stitches along the edge has become a guide line for where i need to manually bring in the seam line. If I don’t I’ll just have a straight tube.

02/12: Woot! Finished!!!!! I just need to weave in a few loose ends and then I’ll get some pictures up. I love the fit, except I’m surprised at how low the back end comes down. (The lower edge of the back lace motif hits my lower back, making the rib curl a little.) With a little bit of fiddling when I put it on I can adjust it so that it sits nicely. It’s just another reason for me to shorten the width of the stockinette border next time.

That aside… my god I didn’t think it was possible to love a garment this much!!!!
