Notes

Dec 20, 2014. Decided to redo this sweater. Unraveled sleeves and about 20 rows of back and both fronts.
My plans are:

  • to make the body for about 5 cm longer than in previous version to do the

  • 3-needle-bind-off for shoulder seams

  • to make short-row sleeves to do the sewn bind off on the neckband, buttonbands and sleeves

Let’s hope I’ll manage to finish this till the end of the winter 2015 ))))

I think I coped with this project not so bad, as for the first serious knit. I learned so many things thanks to this project!
I liked the pattern, the idea of lacy back, my buttons and the yarn’s color, but I will never knit with double stranded yarn again. I had some trouble with BO the button bands, but let’s hope it become ok after next blocking.
The cardi is super-warm, I will probably can’t wear it until it’ll be -20 degrees again =)

Project diary
Jan 29 2012 Seamed.
Jan 27 2012 Washed and blocked.
Jan 9 2012 Finished both sleeves, 174 rows each. Now I need catch the good mood to seam the sweater up =) So far leaving it hibernating.
Dec 14 2011 I’m making my sleeves long and without lace panels ‘cause the yarn is really warm and I want this cardigan to be a truly winter cloth.
Knitted first sleeve up to the sleeve cup. I had to rip nearly a 100 rows because of a small mistake in calculations. I don’t know how to shape the sleeve cup yet, so I started to knit the second one.
Dec 4 2011 The right front is done. I can’t believe there are just two sleeves left!
Nov 15 2011 The back and the left front are done.
Sep 30 2011 It figured out that there are different ways to purl and the result is also very different. Any video in Russian or English could show, how to purl in an “american way”. Fortunately I have a friend who knew how to do it =) Thank you, Maria!
After 6 or 7 times I unknit, finally I have something to show.
Aug 31 2011 Started to knit back.
Aug 29 2011 I decided to translate the description into Russian, for further convenience in use. Can’t say it’s very easy, but I’m coping with it.
Aug 26 2011 Just bought the yarn - it’s adorable! So soft, so warm, and a little bit fluffy - just enough to make the future cardi cozy. =)
I love these yarn’s color - so deep and beautiful!
Already started to knit samples using two strands of yarn, to fit the gauge.
