Notes

Had to FROG because of those 2 mistakes -- completely unable to insert life lines so the entire thing had to be frogged. Shit.

YARN: I originally planned to use this luscious yarn for a sweater but have since decided it would bloom way too much for a sweater; perfect for a luxury shawl.

TIPS: As missuscolumbo suggested, used stitch markers for every 24 stitches.
And, although I thought I’d easily remember which was RS and which WS, I realized that a stitch marker on RS was necessary to ensure I didn’t confuse them while doing cable rows on this reversible wrap.

Had to switch from my slippery Platinas to wood needles -- wish I had cast on with the wood.

PATTERN: Although the pattern itself is really quite simple, Vogue has not written this with great clarity, expecting that a more advanced (or more experienced) knitter would be tackling this wrap. It is necessary to know how to read a chart.

Sept 15: I took a week off to make a hat and when I started up again, made two major mistakes (cables done in wrong places). So … I have to rip back nearly a foot of knitting!! Ack. This is not going to be easy to do a lifeline in ribbing plus between cables. Feeling discouraged but may take a day or two breather and then spend hours life-lining, ripping, and re-winding yarn, only to start again.
