This is my quit smoking present for 2011!! I’m super excited to start.

It’s my first time knitting on circular needles. Jordana helped me augment the pattern to the yarn I chose. I know, I’m lucky.

So far, I have ripped it out four times. Fifth time was the charm. I’ve learned how to yarn over and knit two together. Read my blog post about it here.

I’ve now learned how to successfully change colors, which was a lot easier than I thought it would be. Now I’m realizing that I’m going to need more yarn because I like longer blankets (I’m tall) and I’m trying very hard not to run to the store RIGHT NOW!

I did run and buy more yarn, although I waited until after I’d finished working. I bought 3 more skeins, which was all they had left in that dye lot. Very happy about that :)

I’ve learned now that counting down the skeins is a very good way to gauge my progress. This works now that I don’t dread changing colors any more.

I’m about 1.5 skeins away from finishing, which means I’m headed out to buy my first darning needle.

I’m using this tutorial to learn how to weave in my ends professionally and snugly :)

I AM FINISHED! Wheee!! We snuggled under it on the couch last night and it’s just perfect for us.
